Job description :

Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Operations will play a lead role in the planning and organization of production and logistics activities associated with the manufacture of ready-to-eat products. The Director will work closely with the Quality, Supply, Customer Service, Maintenance and other stakeholders to achieve production, yield, quality and occupational health and safety objectives.                                                                       

Description of Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, directs and controls various production and logistics related activities              
  • Implements and monitors performance indicators on a daily basis
  • Quickly solves production-related problems to ensure optimal performance of the company,
  • Evaluates production processes and the utilization levels of available equipment and resources, identifies areas for improvement and draws up a list of optimization projects
  • Ensures the application of quality, hygiene and sanitation standards by all employees,
  • Maintains constant communication with customer service to ensure product quality and a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Builds and maintains a competent team and provides training and coaching
  • Enforces the company's human resources management policies and ensures that a harmonious and respectful work climate is maintained in the plant.
  • Ensures the rigorous follow-up of the plant's occupational health and safety action plan
  • Performs all other related tasks when required

Skills and qualifications :

Education and/or experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Industrial Engineering or Operations/Logistics Management or related field
  • 5+ years experience in food processing (similar position)
  • Experience in the use of SAP or other ERP system.
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the HACCP standard
  • Bilingualism (English and French) spoken and written (Arabic an important asset)
