Job description :

The role of the Director of Finance will be to plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the financial services and accounting operations. He/she will develop and implement the institution's financial systems and procedures. He/she will set performance standards and prepare various financial reports for senior management. The ideal candidate will be expected to deliver quality projects within the required timeframe, while maintaining a critical, open and professional mindset to identify value-added recommendations.

Description of main responsibilities

  • Prepares financial statements, summary statements and other accounting analysis reports on a monthly basis and financial management reports;
  • Prepare the financial planning and budgeting process, analyze it and correct the forecasts;
  • Planning and review of year-end files
  • Supervision of 3 teams within the finance department in Quebec and India
    • Monthly and annual financial statements and tax aspects
    • Annual audit with external auditors
    • Bidding on tenders related to the sale of pharmaceutical products
    • Implementation of several Canada-wide corporate agreements
    • Approval of quarterly commission calculations for representatives
    • Management support

Skills and qualifications :

Education and/or experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, CA and CPA (MBA an asset)
  • +7 years experience in a similar role
  • Experience in personnel management
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical sector (an asset)
  • Flawless oral and written bilingualism (French and English)
