Job description :

Our client is a company carrying out numerous heavy industrial projects and activites, specializing in the exploitation of natural resources, handling, and transportation while developing its assets located in the region of Sept Iles.

We are currently looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager for operations in this region.

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Supply Chain and Purchasing defines the purchasing strategy in collaboration with the senior management and ensures its implementation. He negotiates purchasing contracts and coordinates the flow of transportation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Optimize purchasing, supply and logistics strategies
  • Define programs and procedures for the purchase of services and products
  • Prospect, draft bids and select suppliers
  • Negotiate, build, manage, develop long-term relationships with suppliers
  • Ensure the smooth delivery of goods until delivery to the departments concerned
  • Control the purchasing procedures and the execution of contracts in their entirety
  • Define control points in the purchasing chain and contribute to budget control of expenditures
  • Develop and track budgets
  • Represent your company in trade shows, conferences, symposiums

Skills and qualifications :

 

Education and / or experience

  • Bachelor's degree in management / business administration or relevant discipline
  • 10 years of experience in supply management or equivalent

 

Specific skills

  • Knowledge of good logistics practices, principles of operational management (e.g. LEAN)
  • Negotiating skills
  • Functional English
  • Knowledge in the use of ERP administrative tools
  • Strong computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
