Job description :

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for updating and applying HR management processes, policies and programs in accordance with the company's values, corporate strategies and business issues. He/she is also responsible for managing and developing the industrial division's human resources team. In addition, he/she ensures the organizational development of his/her division and acts as an HR business partner for the members of the industrial management.                                   

Description of responsibilities

  • Acts as a business partner and coach to plant managers and executives
  • Administers and renegotiates the collective agreement and supports the management team in its daily application
  • Chairs the plant's Labour Relations Committee for the implementation of corrective actions and the follow-up of these measures
  • Manages the grievance process according to the rules set out in the collective agreement
  • Ensures the maintenance of a harmonious work climate and uniform management of human capital
  • Maintains the HR tools for the plant and updates the general policies and HR tools
  • Develops and maintains job descriptions for all employees in the unionized and non-unionized plants
  • Monitors good HR practices in the division
  • With his team, manages and coordinates all training activities, evaluates the results and makes recommendations for improvement Maintains key KPI's that will help the company make the right business decisions
  • Carries out various special projects for the company and participates in multidisciplinary committees
  • Supervise and control the work of 3 human resources professionals
  • See to the development of the skills of the members of his team and mobilize them to achieve the corporate objectives
  • Addresses problematic and conflictual situations as needed, adopting a constructive approach with team members

Skills and qualifications :

Education and/or experience

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or industrial relations
  • CHRP or CIRC designation
  • 5+ years experience in a similar position
  • Experience in the manufacturing and unionized environment
  • Proven experience in team management
  • Bilingualism in written and spoken French and English
